  16.     I'm running Kermit 3.14 under Win95. It runs fine when you shut 
  17. down Win95 and run a DOS session, but it won't run in a DOS box as a 
  18. Win95 process, apparently because it can't detect the port. After it 
  19. executes MSCUSTOM.INI, I get the message:

  21. ?Warning: unknown hardware for port. Using the Bios as BIOS1
  22. Unimplemented speed
  23. ?Cannot use RTS/CTS on non-UART parts
  24.  
  25.     This is on a 486. On a Pentium box, I get this message only 
  26. *part* of the time. Huh?!? If I run Kermit in a DOS box, I get the error 
  27. message, leave Kermit for DOS, then run Kermit *again*, it correctly 
  28. detects the port. But not on the 486.

  30.     What's going on here? How can it be fixed?
